Hope Solo pleads guilty to driving while intoxicated
Hope Solo, a U.S. soccer player, pleaded guilty for driving while intoxicated. Forsyth County's judge sentenced Hope Solo to suspended sentences, active sentences of 30 days, and substance abuse assessments. The judge gave Solo credit for time she spent in a rehab facility. A $2,500 fine was imposed and Solo must complete a substance abuse assessment.

In a Walmart parking lot, she was taken into custody
Hope Solo was arrested in a Walmart parking lot in Winston-Salem North Carolina. The mother of two children was arrested for driving under the influence and resisting police. She was also charged for misdemeanor child abuse. Hope Solo was found unconscious in the driver's chair by a witness, so officers pulled her over. Solo and her children were in the backseat.
She was charged with misdemeanor child abuse
Hope Solo, former goalkeeper on the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team (USAWNS), was arrested under suspicion of driving while drunk (DWI), resisting an arrest and misdemeanor Child Abuse. After further investigation, it became clear that Solo was also facing misdemeanor child cruelty charges. Solo is accused of involvement in domestic violence. It was due to an altercation between her half-sister, and her 17-year old nephew. She is due to be eligible to play for the USWNT again in February. Solo was previously reported to be suffering from a drinking problem. Solo was also reported to have been drunk while driving in a U.S. soccer truck.
