There are many outstanding examples of couple athletes making headlines. Amanda Nunes, Nina Ansaroff and Julie Ertz are all examples of great athlete couples. Bird and Rapinoe, Zach Ertz and Zach Ertz, Granato, Ferraro and many others are just some. Maybe you have even heard of retired athletes finding love in one another's arms.

Amanda Nunes, Nina Ansaroff

Their relationship has been openly shared for over a decade. They met in 2012 while working together at a Florida gym. The couple announced their engagement in August last year. They are a prominent couple in UFC. They work hard together. Nunes has spoken out to credit Ansaroff for her success, saying that she couldn't have done this without her support.

Nina Ansaroff competes in UFC's strawweight division. She was born and raised in Weston Florida. In 2009 she started training as mixed martial artist. She has an impressive record of 16 wins, six losses. She is well-known for her comebacks and is currently ranked 13th in women's poundforpound rankings.

Julie Ertz and Zach Ertz

Both Zach Ertz, and his wife Julie, are professional athletes. Zach is the tight end for Philadelphia Eagles while Julie plays soccer at the Chicago Red Stars. Both are currently vying for a place on the U.S. Women's National Team. Both were students at Bay Area universities when they met.

Zach Ertz and Julie Ertz got married in 2017. Their daughter was born one week ago. The couple met while playing Stanford's baseball. They were married last march. Fans have celebrated their marriage and it has been covered in the media.

Bird and Rapinoe

Sue Bird, Megan Rapinoe and Megan Rapinoe are a couple of athletes. They both reside in Seattle. They talk about many topics, including women's basketball in America. Rapinoe posted photos of Bird to her Instagram Story along with a link that took viewers to a video of her cheering on. Rapinoe has also posted an image of Bird's Seattle Storm profile, which lists her WNBA accomplishments.


Bird and Rapinoe were reunited during the Olympic build-up to Rio Olympics 2016. Olympic athletes are often asked to pose for patriotic hot shots. Rapinoe met Bird while preparing for a photo shoot. Rapinoe asked Bird for a secret. Bird was stumped. Rapinoe mentioned that Sue was not an "open book", which inspired Bird.

Granato, Ferraro

Ray Ferraro and Cammi Granato are two of the most successful sports stars in history. Ferraro was a former NHL player and was a Stanley Cup champion twice. Granato won the 1998 Olympic women’s hockey gold medal. Granato is now a retired professional hockey player. Granato, Ferraro and their two daughters are married.

Granato, who was the captain of the 1998 U.S. women’s ice hockey team, was inducted into Hockey Hall of Fame 2010. Ferraro was a National Hockey League player for 18 seasons. He scored twice 40 goals. Ferraro ended his career scoring 408 goals, 490 assists, and 898 point.

Graf and Agassi

Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf have been an elite couple in tennis for several years. The couple met after both won the same tournament at Roland Garros in 1999. They started dating in 1999 and were married in 2001. Jaden, and Jaz, are their children. After Peter's death in 2013, Graf's mother moved to Las Vegas with her husband. Graf now uses the name Stefanie Graf.

Graf dated Michael Bartels for 2 years before Agassi got married. Before getting married to Agassi, Graf had a love affair. Brooke Shields, Agassi's girlfriend, was his bride before his 1997 marriage. Their romance was so public that Brooke Shields photographed Agassi prior to the wedding. She remarked that "the legs of this man are perfect." Although they split in 1998, they reconnected again in 2001. Graf was playing at a tennis tournament and Agassi was practicing with Graf. Graf and Agassi discovered that they shared many things, but also had their own differences.
