Carla Esparza is a mixed martial artist
Carla Esparza is an American mixed martial artist. She competes as a women's fighter in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). She is the UFC Women's Strawweight Champion, and she has also won two UFC titles.
Esparza made her debut in 2012 when she signed with Invicta FC. Invicta FC2 saw Sarah Schneider lose to Esparza in 2012. Esparza got on the back of Schneider early with a heel hook and then attacked the Argentine. She eventually resisted the urge to use a back-naked choke and controlled her opponent's head.
She is currently UFC strawweight Champion
Carla Esparza has been a professional fighter since 2010. She is both the first UFC strawweight champion (and the first Invicta FC s strawweight champion). She is currently ranked fourth in the UFC women’s straighweight rankings, as at January 2021. Esparza was the winner of the Ultimate Fighter 20 women’s strawweight competition in 2014.

Carla Esparza doesn't have a perfect record. She lost to Jessica Andrade. Claudia Gadelha. Randa Markos. She has also faced close calls against Jessica Andrade (Weili Zhang), Marina Rodriguez and Jessica Andrade. Given her five-fight winning streak, this could be a red flag.
She was defeated by Coenen II at Invicta FC 6.
Coenen is an aggressive, determined fighter, but Cyborg has the upper-hand. Although both fighters used leg kicks in the opening round, Coenen could not stop Cyborg's relentless attack. Cyborg scored a takedown in round two and landed several punches. Coenen was trying to escape, but Cyborg was able to land some power punches that ended the round.
Cyborg will likely defend her featherweight title versus Coenen. The Strikeforce featherweight champ won their first TKO bout. Coenen comes into the bout with a two-fight winning streak. The winner will take on either Ayako or Carla Hamasaki.
In 2007, she sustained nerve injury.
Carla Esparza has made a remarkable recovery from nerve damage suffered in 2007. Rose Namajunas beat her to win the UFC strawweight crown in May. In November, she will be defending her title against Zhang Weili who was the previous champ. She recently posted a status update on social media about her fight camp.
Esparza was injured in the accident and went to the hospital. Her hospital bill was over $30,000, but she committed to fight. The following year, she fought Maya Hamasaki in Invicta FC 7. Claudia Gadelha was her opponent. Gadelha withdrew because of stomach illness.

Rose Namajunas won her two title bouts.
Rose Namajunas, Carla Esparza and Carla Esparza were both women's lightweight champions in the past and have fought each other twice for titles. Namajunas was awarded the title in April and it was retained in November. Although the fight was close, neither fighter managed to land a knockout. Esparza won the fight 48 to 47.
Esparza was 3-3 in 29 previous fights for the title, but her victory against Virna Jandiroba April 2019 set the scene for a five-fight win streak. She beat Yan Xiaonan at a COVID Quiet UFC APEX in Las Vegas in eight minutes. In June 2019, she defended her title again by knockout in the first round.
