Are the US men's soccer players bad? There are many causes, including a lack in talent, pay-to–play and ineffective techniques. Each one will be addressed individually. The US Men's Football Team Needs to Improve
McKennie is undoubtedly the best midfielder of the team
McKennie, a U.S. male soccer player, is one of the most outstanding midfielders. This 23-year-old is a household name in parts of Europe, and has a unique background. He was raised in Little Elm Texas and sports a Dallas skyline tattoo on one elbow. His father, an airman, was his father. He spent most of his childhood years in Texas and then moved to Germany with FC Schalke 04 when he was 17. He will transfer from Texas to Juventus in 2020.

Gregg Berhalter has failed to succeed with his tactics
It is easy to see why Berhalter's tactics aren't working for the USMNT. Berhalter's strategy of recruiting dual-nationals such as Yunus Mukhah has not been successful. The New York City native, the midfielder could also have played for Spain or Italy.
Talent shortage
The talent pool for the United States men's soccer team is seriously flawed. There are talks of "golden centuries" and teams who rise and fall in international soccer. However, this doesn't necessarily imply that the United States is devoid of talent. We need to find more of this talent. This is not as easy though it may sound. Although it's not as simple as hiring a superstar, it is the first step.
Pay-to-play
Some claim that the USMNT's poor performance during major tournament qualifiers or tournaments is due to pay-to play. Although this may be true, it is also a contributing factor to the poor performance in other soccer/football-powerhouse nations. Iceland, for example. They paid hundreds of coaching staff to obtain UEFA licences and other credentials. More qualified coaches mean better quality players.

Lack of firepower
The USMNT has been steadily trending upwards for over 20 years, but it's now facing a serious problem: a lack of firepower. Its latest loss to Honduras represents a new low for this team, which has been winless in its 14 previous matches. The team's poor performance this week has led to many cathartic rants, and calls for a complete overhaul. However, what can the team do to turn things around?
