She continued to excel in the sport, and was voted as the alternate for the 2004 Olympic team. She played for 1,054 minutes and never allowed an opponent to score a goal. The next year, she was selected for the World Cup team.

Stevens played in top divisions of European soccer as well as the Women's Professional Soccer League, but the league was disbanded after one season.
