Hope Solo is a great goalkeeper in American women's soccer history. However, she was not selected to be the alternate for 2004 Olympic team. She was still a great athlete and one of the best in the country the following year. She played 1,054 minutes, without allowing any opponent to score. She was chosen for the World Cup team the following year.

She is a two time Olympic gold medalist, and a World Cup winner. Stevens played collegiately for the University of Washington. She then became a pro soccer player with the Philadelphia Charge. Stevens played in top divisions of European soccer as well as the Women's Professional Soccer League, but the league was disbanded after one season.
