Fowles, despite her poor performance in the WNBA's finals, is clearly happy. She has never felt happier in her entire life. She would rather be winning but she knows that life is far more important than basketball. Seattle Storm, a perennial contender

The defending WNBA champions Seattle Storm are in the midst a reconstruction process. In 2010, the champions were won on the shoulders a formidable Australian stretch-5 Lauren Jackson and an ageless Sue Bird. The standings fell due to Jackson's absence. Storm didn't stop them from drafting players in the 2015 & 2016 drafts.

Chicago Mercury a deep playoff team

The Mercury made several trades during the off-season, which should allow them to improve on last season's performance. The team traded Bridget Pettis (Jillian Alleyne), Kim Smith, and the thirteenth selection of the 2012 draft for two players in WNBA Draft as well as a first round pick from the Minnesota Lynx in 2013. They also traded first round picks to the Minnesota Lynx, Los Angeles Sparks, and Temeka John. In return, the Mercury received a second-round pick in the 2013 draft and a third-round pick in the 2014 draft from the New York Liberty.

Washington Mystics' Elena Delle Donne

Washington Mystic's Elena Delle Donne will be entering her fourth season as a member of the team. She is the two-time WNBA champion. She averaged over 20 point per game in the regular season and ranked third in playoffs with an average field goal percentage of 50.8%. She was also named to the All-Star roster for the sixth season. She was the leader of Washington Mystics to their first WNBA Championship. She helped to set a variety of WNBA records and franchise records.

Chicago Mercury's Chelsea Gray

Despite being passed over for her fifth straight All-Star nod, Gray's teammates have seen a transformation in the Chicago Mercury's star point guard. Gray has emerged as one of the league's best, making big plays and leading her team towards a 4-0 record.
