She has since been suspended from the Women's National Team. Hope is not the only one to be involved in scandals. Hope Solo pleads guilty in the case of driving while impaired
Hope Solo, U.S. soccer superstar, has pleaded guilty at the trial to driving while impaired. The judge in Forsyth County sentenced Solo, aged 23, to suspended sentences, a 30 day active sentence, and a substance abuse assessment. Solo was given credit by the judge for her time in a rehabilitation facility. The sentence includes a $2,500 penalty and the requirement for Solo to complete an assessment on substance abuse.

She was arrested in a Walmart parking lot
Hope Solo has been in the news for several reasons following her arrest in the Walmart parking lot in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The mother-of-two was arrested for driving while impaired and resisting arrest. These charges were added to the misdemeanor child abuse. Hope Solo was observed by a witness lying in bed while she was driving. Police pulled Solo over. Solo and her two children, who were both asleep in the backseat, witnessed the incident.
She was charged misdemeanor with child abuse
Former U.S. Women's National Soccer Team goalkeeper Hope Solo was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated (DWI), resisting arrest and misdemeanor child abuse. Further investigation revealed that Solo was also charged for misdemeanor abuse of children. Solo was accused of domestic violence and the police supported her charges.
In 2016, she was expelled from the Women's National Team.
Former U.S. Women's National Team member Hope Solo was suspended for 30 days from the team in 2016 after being arrested on two counts of domestic violence in 2014. This was due to an altercation that she had with her halfsister and her 17year-old nephew. She will soon be eligible for the USWNT in February. The suspension comes on the heels of reports that Solo had a drinking problem and was intoxicated while driving in a U.S. soccer van.

She has been in several encounters with law enforcement
Hope Solo, a retired soccer player has had numerous run-ins in the courts with law enforcement. Two misdemeanor assault charges were filed against her in 2014. Despite her plead not guilty, the charges were dismissed due to procedural violations. Kirkland dropped the domestic violence charges against her earlier this year. Meanwhile, Solo denied all accusations.
