Others like Saul "Canelo Alvarez have won world championships, and are icons. Mexico is not as well-known for its MMA talent as it is in boxing but it has produced some the best fighters in MMA's history.
Brandon Moreno
Brandon Carrillo Moreno a professional mixed martial artist hailing from Mexico. He competes as a Flyweight fighter in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He is a former Flyweight Champion and currently serves as the Interim UFC Flyweight Champion. He is well-known for his fast and intense style of fighting.
He is married to Shirley Moreno and has been with her for more than 10 years. She often stands by him when he makes public appearances. They have three girls, Maddie, Megan and Morgan. The couple shared pictures on social media of their family.
Cain Velasquez
Cain Velasquez, Mexican heavyweight Cain Velasquez found a new career in professional wrestlers after his successful UFC career. He has previously wrestled in Mexico and with the WWE. He signed with AAA Mexican in December 2018. He plans to wrestle more this year.

Velasquez has been accused of attempted murder and multiple firearm assault. Velasquez is currently being held without bail. He will appear in court Wednesday. Velasquez arrested in connection to incident. The victim sustained only non-life-threatening injuries after the shooting.
Nick Diaz
Nick Diaz, a Mexican fighter in MMA, is a champion and one the most charismatic UFC fighters. His last fight was against Rob Lawler at UFC 47. Lawler won the fight by KO in Round 2. Diaz hasn't fought professionally since. Real Fight, Inc., is his own promotion company. He is also the co-founder of Real Fight, Inc., a clothing company and a training center for jiujitsu.
This is the highly anticipated fight in which Diaz makes his long-awaited comeback to the octagon. While this may be his last fight with WME it is uncertain what Diaz's future holds. He will be facing Ferguson, who is a tough opponent.
Alejandro Perez
Alejandro Perez is a Mexican mixed martial artist currently fighting in the bantamweight section of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. The reality television program "The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America" made the Perez a household name. Perez was awarded the show and turned his attention to MMA.
Perez, 33, was born in Mexico on September 2, 1989. He is now 33 and competes at bantamweight. He made his UFC debut at the UFC on November 15, 2014. He trains with the American Kickboxing Academy.

Melissa Martinez
Melissa Martinez, 25, is a Mexican kickboxer. She has been competing professionally as a kickboxer since 2016. She is an excellent prospect in mixed martial arts and has a perfect record. Her specialty is in shock technique. She has also trained in kickboxing and Muay Thai.
Martinez won a Gold Medal at the 2021 World Association of Kickboxing Organs (WAKO), World Championships in Italy. She was also awarded the title of best female fighter at this event. She was also awarded the 2016 Pan American Kickboxing Championship title and a silver medal at 2017 World Games. She is also a sixtime national kickboxing champion. She has a promising MMA career and plans to continue competing in kickboxing.
